Why would you like a permit to carry a shotgun? I carry a shotgun in my tow truck for protection when I'm on duty as a mechanic. I'd like to do the same as a LSSD employee. I don't have any plans of using it on the job, I'd just like to keep it with me. (( I don't want to have to keep buying one when I go off duty. )) I'd even be fine just leaving it in my car (( RPly )) as long as I'm allowed to have it on the premises.
Do you have a criminal history? (Will be checked.) A small one, but yes. One for an advertisement about installing nitrous and hydraulics in cars (I wasn't aware they were illegal at the time), and one for making a stupid 911 call.
